PlotLocationDescription

RATA BURN

PlotLocationNarrative

Boat across lake Hauroko from Lillburn Valley Road end to camp at E1157251 N4884798. There is a nice sandy beach here and good camping in the forest. Follow beach and then cut into bush towards spot height 199. There is a line start marked at E1157454 N4884148, however we found it unnecessary to travel so far down the beach. Previous team noted a steep cliff at line start. The plot had a non intuitive orientation, and was slightly offset along the predominant contour of the slope, see map insert.
