From Mossburn, take SH97 north, turning onto Hillas Rd. Follow for approx 5km, turning left at the fork onto the forestry road, then right onto Acton Rd, passing through a locked gate. Continue on the same road until 'Action 9' sign TS reached, pulling off the road and parking next to paddock. You'll see a sign for the DOC easement, follow the orange triangles north along the fenceline, they cross Acton Stream. There is an open track that leads to Cromel Base hut. Follow this past Acton Hut and to a large clearing. Dive into bush at the LS (E1233240 N4946518) and sidle to plot for 1.1km at a bearing of 31 degrees. Open forest, easy travel.
